Porsche is the only manufacturer to use the 5x130 bolt pattern, so nothing but Porsche wheels will fit. The 944, along with most Porsches, only came with alloy wheels. The 356 and 924 are the exceptions, both using steel wheels, but neither using the 5x130 bolt pattern.
Of course, the steel spares are narrow.
If you're willing to reduce performance and handling quality, go ahead and have four of them widened to proper fitment at a custom welding shop.
For street driving, they would work just fine. For more spirited driving or track duty, the car's performance will suffer noticably.

The 944 PET shows a steel rim, but im assuming its a 911 rim. I also saw that the spare is only a 15X5 1/2, so thanks for pointing out that they run narrow.
