I haven't followed this in detail but her family is from my neighborhood. One of my buddies worked with a childhood friend of hers. She's not the angel the US media has portrayed nor probably the devil Italy thinks she is. I agree she was crucified and tried in the media and the physical evidence was not there. However, she threw her boss under the boss, the first guy arrested. He was held for two weeks but had a very solid alibi and was nowhere near the scene. Her behavior was odd. Her contradictions, confession, retraction, etc. all were bizarre. I heard a good quip from someone on a call in show here. She probably didn't do the killing but she knows more about what actually happened than she is sharing. What happened to the girl killed was horrible and I feel for her family.
