My $0.42:

I come across the 'parked in the fast lane' scenario often on my commute. My attitude is: "All I want to do is get home, and nothing personal, but I'm driving a little faster then don't take it personally -- just move over!"

Now, there are two things one can do to be on your merry way at your pace:
1. Tailgate: fill the person's mirrors with your car.
2. Pass on the right.

Both of those are technically illegal. However, a cop will more likely ticket you for tailgating vs. passing on the right, IF passing on the right can be done in a safe manner.

I really don't understand why people take it so personally -- if they are doing 60 in a 65 zone, and I want to do 65-70, then can't we all get along? I don't want them to be driving faster than they desire, so why are they so keen on schooling me on the speed limits?!?

True story:
One winter, I was coming home on snowy roads -- there was a lady taking up two lanes on a 4 lane town road. I finally passed her -- but of course, got stuck at the light. She pulled up next to me and started ranted and raving, stating that I'm going to cause an accident AND DEATH. Now, I was certainly driving faster than her, but not fast enough to cause any trouble. Besides, my old Subaru handled snowy conditions very well -- apparently better than her Honda CRV did. I just ignored her raving and went my merry way once the light changed. Whatever...
