Yeah, I read that article, and some of the comment.
What they have is neither cheap, nor stable.
... That's the beauty of hydrocarbons; we dial the stability/volatility up or down with chain length.
Green plants work hard to scrub the atmosphere of the tiny amount of CO2.
Carbon makes the world (as we know it) go 'round.
