I bought one of my F150s, a 2006 XLT extended cab model with the 5.4L V8 new for $18,900. It was one of those Saturday ad specials at the local Ford dealer (Capistrano Ford). I thought I'd just drive this thing into the ground, but it now has 91,000 miles on it and I'm starting to think of replacing it with another ad-special truck, before something major happens in the way of expense. I figure I can get $9K for the truck (it has hail damage on the roof).

I doubt I can score a 2011 for similar money, but anyone have the pulse on what basic (cloth seats, extended cab, V8, power doors/windows/locks) XLT models are going for now? I'm hoping $22K-ish. For $13K out of pocket, I can beat on a new truck for another 5 years and not worry about maintenance expenses. Am I dreaming?
