As a foreigner that has traveled widely in the States I think the list of cities already mentioned is good . In the natural world though I'd add Bryce Canyon and Zion as uniquely beautiful natural environments. I really don't like the term "world class", perhaps it's because around here (Vancouver), our media and politicians use the term way too frequently.....usually as an excuse to further delve into citizen pockets.
