What do you mean by "World-Class"? What about a visit to say, Wright-Patterson? What about a visit to the finger lake region of New York? Could a trip to Watkins Glen, and a visit to a winery with a stay at a bed and breakfast rival a trip to NYC? Want to watch a sporting event, NYC, Chicago, and LA are great places to watch a baseball game, but a Steelers game in Pittsburgh isn't going to be topped in San Francisco or NYC. What if you're into surfing, rock-climbing, hunting or fishing, or white-water rafting? There are tons of world-class locations in the US (just like there are all over the world), but it depends on your interests.
