You need to turn down/off the True Motion or whatever it's called on a Sony. It essentially invents frames in between the frames that are really there and makes it look like video instead of film.
A little bit of blur isn't a bad thing.
You'll still get the benefits of the 120hz rate even if you turn the compensation all the way off, as the TV natively will run at that rate.
You also may need to adjust the brightness/contrast down a little from the out of the box "torch mode" they all seem set to.
