I installed a HI6 multi spark unit on my 68' 912 ( I know, not a 356 but... same engine) I'm having problems with my Tach. No matter what I do I cant get it to work right. I've used adapters, work arounds and nothing. I called crane and the guy i talked to basically said, "the tach lead wire should work" other than this scripted response he had nothing else to offer. Have any of you used this unit? I love it other than this problem. Smoother idle, Rev limiter, great throttle response. This thing is so sick... I can make the engine idle at 500 rpms!! Granted thats not where i left it though.

I dont think that the 356 uses the same tach as the 912 but either way they should both be triggered the same way... from the coil negative wire. On mine its a Black with purple wire that goes straight to the back of the tach.

Any help would be great!
