That wasn't an "animal attack" per se, the buck just happened to be running along when the bicyclist crossed his path. Believe me, they do not have the intelligence to alter course to avoid a collision. In Wisconsin we think that they actually wait by the side of the road for a vehicle to approach and then with perfect timing, run out in front of it. If there is such a thing as negative intelligence, this species has it.
