Hi,
When i plug the coil - lead wire (black/ purple) to the back of the tach I plug it into the (-) terminal and I plug the 12V wire into the (12V) terminal. When I do that I get output, but slow output from the tach. but when I hook up the daisy chain of brown ground wires to the chassis of the tach so that the lights inside have a ground the tach stops working. Also it will stop working when i leave the brown disconnected and i slip the gauge into its respective hole in the dash (because its getting a chassis ground through metal to metal contact.

I have the HI-6 unit, captive discharge and multi spark. I'm using the green tach output wire.

Am I connecting this the wrong way?
I'll try to post which wire color it 12v+ tomorrow. I think its yellow and blue?

thanks!
