Our yellow lab (female) has had no problems with any small game that happened to wander into our yard, but for some reason she lives peacably with the pair of fox running in our area and lets them come into the yard. Coyotes don't wander too close but mom saw a wolf running along the ridge in the field across the road from us. No way she would be able to take a wolf on but a 'yote would have been no problem in her younger years.
