I discovered that with swype you don't need to add the space manually - just pause between words and it will add it automatically. And you can alternate between swyping and regular typing with no issue.
Beyond that it really is just getting the home screens set up with widgets and shortcuts that you want/use then you're good to go. No need to scroll through anything. My g/f is addicted to the game Alchemy. And Calvin desperately wants Minecraft for his phone. I'm looking to keep mine game-free...
