Notebook hdd's are $50. What is the big deal reload, restore.
You are backing up right? With the price of storage now, your are crazy not to.
Everything uses the same parts in the end on x86 hardware.

Western Digital (31.2%)
Seagate (29.2%)
Hitachi GST (18.1%) (being sold to Western Digital)
Toshiba (10.8%)
Samsung (10.7%) (being sold to Seagate)


That's it really for hard drives.
