These pics were taken by my Dad over lake Michigan in 1942.He was the an oral surgeon stationed at Glenview NAS before shipping out with the 4th Marines.There were two carriers in Lake Michigan,the Wolverine and the Sable,both in view off Grant Park.These are from slides he took.there are over 200 aircraft on the bottom of the Lake from carrier qualifications from that era in restorable condition.The Naval air museum in Pensicola has a diorama of one plane on the bottom and it is surreal.Great museum by the way.
