No offence but I call BS! That is a nice story you tell so you dont get busted for illegal take downs out of season. Not only is this the largest Wolf ever recorded but also one hunting alone, attacking a human unprovoked, and all the while knowing she was there and not retreating....yep that happens all the time.
She is extremely lucky being a prize hunter and finding a world record Wolf and being attacked and having to protect herself! Heck there have been only 27 wolf attacks recorded dating back to the Colonization of the Americas. She might want to go out and buy a lottery ticket or two right away.
OK rant off....

Photo was taken by one of my hunting partner's buddies who guides around Headquarters, Idaho. The nice lady was bow hunting elk and using a cow call to locate some. Seems this guy answered the call. 183 pounds of cute, cuddly gray wolf.
She says they first spotted one another about 50 yards apart. Wind was at her back, so he undoubtedly got a nose full of her. She raised her arms and screamed like a girl, and he came after her. She dropped her bow and unlimbered the 6" M29 shown. First shot took him over the left eye at about ten feet, and turned him, but did not kill him. Second one through the lungs didn't kill him either. Third one through the back of the neck did the trick. He probably even dropped his chew toy.
