Well, it came from the 348 ci truck motor, but with (IIRC) a 4 .4 in bore & 3.5 in stroke, 2.25 intake valbes & ports like garbage cans, it was a rever. Unfortnately, it had several weaknesses that weren't solved till Chevy came out with the BB 396/427.
Not many production engines are meant to race. The 9eleben is one that comes to mind. It may be the 2nd greatest production motor ever made.
