The problem with a DIY inspection is that most people don't know what to look for. Are they really going to drain and check the oil in a parking lot? Do they know where to look for signs of accidents, flood or other abuse? Usually not.
AFAIK, it's $500 here at either of the Toronto dealers, but I've never gone through that myself.
