I agree with Rod. You have the legal right to take the car to a bodyshop of your choice. I did this with one of my VW's. The insurance company quickly towed it to "There" approved body shops. I quickly towed it directly to VW dealer. This is interesting... So the "approved body shop" said they could fix it. VW totaled it.
