I like Lisbon a lot. Great architecture. Lots of lovely old quarters, where you should be able to find a high-ceilinged flat. Always a breeze from the Atlantic. Of course you won't learn Spanish in Lisbon, and Portugese food is not as refined as Spanish food. Also Portuguese women will be a disappointment if you are comparing to Spain.
