"Have a Good Day" or "I Love You" or "Be Good" - what do you say to yours?
Growing up my Father would always tell me "Stay alert." That was pretty much the last thing he always would say before going to work where ever. I guess he didn't want me to walk into a wall or have an anvil fall on my head. My older Brother would always say "Be good" at the end over a phone call.
I was thinking this AM about what I say to our kiddos - seems like I always say the same thing to them, "I love you, be a hero". There is a long story behind the hero part. Our Son has a ritual with Mom every AM. When he is leaving the house they have the same volley of phrases...
Mommy: "Love you"
Son: "Love You Too"
Mommy: "Love You More"
Son: "Half"
Again, the origins to this are long but odd but it is rather cute.
He texts me at school when he gets in and always ends with "Luv U, B Safe".
I think that if we all do not say these little phrases we will somehow have bad luck or worse. Superstitions I guess...
What are some of the phrases you just have to say before getting off the phone or leaving a loved one for the day?
