The video is cool, but dated, as it mentions parts coming from Vought and Global Areonatica (sp?) in Charleston, SC. Boeing has owned both for a couple of years, to bring parts and quality up to speed.
I've just finished 10 weeks of training and have 16 more to start working in the 20building, where the mid-body is built, here in Charleston. I was hoping for the 30 building where final assembly is
but it's a job that I'm glad to have, having been out of work for a while. The 30 building is 7 acres in size, with solar panels on top, helping to power the plant. The plane looks small from 100' up, but is big when walking around it. Compared to a 747, I'm sure it looks small.
It's been exciting to see the first plane from Charleston being built up the past 10 weeks. Still a long way to go, but it will be cool to see it take off.
