I hate to do something like this but My desire for speed is severally hampered by the cost of building a high HP Porsche engine. It came to mind that when I used to have my daily driver Audi A4 Avant, I was always wanting to do a VR6 conversion with a big single turbo. I sold my Audi and bought my 964 which I am now back dating to look like a 73 RSR. The VR6 is super easy to produce wild HP numbers with and also very cheap compared to a comparable HP Porsche engine. I have no issue with designing and producing components to mount the engine as well as the custom wiring needed to operate the engine. I need to get some measurements from a VR6 to see if it is even something that I could it in the back of a 964. I think this engine or maybe an Audi 2.7TT would be a good option for the back of my 964. They both have a very European sound and can be make extreme power somewhat easy. Anyone have some details on the VR6 such as dimensions they want to share? I know this engine would place some mass higher up but maybe i could do a low mount turbo setup and keep all the accessories down low to help with that.
