Bang for buck AND reliability = 993 based 3.6. Stick it in and go. $5K just for a set of carbs or $8k for an entire motor? Sell the existing motor and use the $ to offset the cost of the 3.6 and adaptation parts. Do it right and you end up with a better motor for less money and WAY less work. 993 motor in a 2300 pound car would be buckets of condensed fun. I stuck 278 bone stock drop dead reliable and drivable HP in a 2000 pound car.
