Was it a 86 engine that you rebuilt? If so, declair it as a antique........0 duty.
The reason they are asking about what was made where is so you only pay duty on the non NAFTA parts and not the labour.
Example: You buy a engine for $5000 in the USA and you spend $5000 in parts and labour rebuilding it. It is now worth $10000. You should only pay duty on the original purchase price (that is if all the parts you bought to rebuild it were made in the USA). You will pay GST & PST on the total price.
