So anyway.
Yesterday I left work early in order to get a new set of winter tires mounted on my E36. Turns out the bolts are stuck. No matter what they tried, only resulted in rounded bolts. Told me to get to a shop and have it fixed before they could change the tires. Duh?!##"%
I drive 15 miles to a shop that after a lot of induction heat manages to loose the bolts. Takes them over an hour!
Back to the tire shop and they switch tires uneventfully.
Out on the road and there is the most horrendous knocking sound from the rear (sounds like someone is using a sledgehammer in the boot) and a rhythmic high pitch sound from the front.
Shop closed so I limp home. This morning I hesitate to take the car to work but as the alternative would imply going by bus, I give it a try.
Behold! No strange sounds at all. Drives like it should.
I hate old cars.
