We've discussed this before as I recall (an action I try to avoid as it seldom yields much fruit) and came to the conclusion that the alternate drive is the standard one. Look for a thread that Curve started as he was looking for a rear drive ratio that would allow him to increase top speed. We were all going out to our garages standing on our heads looking for the drive ratio. Mine is 2.75 and is the "alternate drive".
