Cork Gasket
You are right, the cork gasket is not a good way to go..all that work to change the gasket on a 90 325i then it leaks like a sive..a BIG pain, to say the least because of the oil pump in the way of getting the pan off and having to jack the engine up to boot. BMW really messed up on this engine the way they built it, making it that difficult to change the oil pan gasket.
