Go here. Official Site: Griffith Observatory Los Angeles, CA If you are not into that kind of stuff, have a look at the city from there. There are a bunch of hiking trails going both south from there or up to the highest point in the city of LA. IF you see the pic in the link, just turn around and look at the peak. Follow the path at the end of the parking lot and keep going up. You will get to the top of Mt Hollywood in about 1/2 hour. Its worth it. You see all of the LA basin, see the ocean on a clear day ( the day right after it rains is the most beautiful day in LA). Drive down Mullholland drive. If you go, turn into the Torreyson Drive and have a look at Lautner's Chemosphere (40 second drive off Mullholland), 60's modern architecture. You can't miss it. it is really something to see up close. You can't get up to the house, but really close enough to have a look a the stem of the mushroom. We spend hours in there restoring and building the interior, mostly wood work. See it only if you are up for the drive on Mullholland, if not it may not be worth your time just to go see Chemosphere. You can't even get in.
