My wife has a black stainless TCP.... Yes the sights are are tough to see (the LCP sights are even tougher to use). These tiny easily concealed guns IMO are strictly for close up encounters where sights are not really too important. For "fun" I have plinked with it out to 25 yards, but I have my wife simply practice at 5-7 yards max drawing and firing at center mass of a large carboard IDPA target.

To answer your question, all I can say is that you need to scuff the metal then get it absolutely clean prior to dabbing paint on it. You might try to find some etching primer to dab on first, but I doubt it would be worth it. That and you don't need to be ultrasonically cleaning the thing each time you shoot it.

My wife's TCP probably has 300 rounds through it and I have only taken the slide off once for a quick cleaning. My Glock only gets cleaned a couple times all summer long with thousands of rounds fired. I have owned guns my whole life and the only gun that gets cleaned nearly every time I use it, is my .22 Ruger target pistol and that is cleaned primarily to keep the lightened trigger pull perfect. Modern guns firing modern ammo simply do not need to be cleaned as often as they typically are.

Men do not quit playing because they get old.... They get old because they quit playing.
