Coming from a Brit...Wow! I come from a long line of soldiers and my dad was an engineer who landed on Juno beach before daybreak. This was to plant charges on the sea wall to blow as the first wave hit the beach. He said it wasn't too bad until the navel guns opened up to soften up the beach head before the first wave. He said it took some time for the ships to find their range so the beach that the engineers were on was pummeled mercilessly. Anyway, I realize it's kind of off the topic but it brings back memories of talks with my dad and the acts of individual valour that even Canadians themselves are not aware of. Cheers
