Seeing that particular car gives me a headache.

I am working with it's exact TWIN (right down to the branded title, chrome wheels and black guts) right now. Owner butchered up the harness trying to "repair" it and now it won't start- we just finished the HG on it.

Yeah, that's a really similar heap to mine. Has it been punched hard? Mine doesn't seem to have been. The picture of the short block looks like it was exposed to the elements, (and moisture), for quite awhile. Mine is still running, (albeit w/ some really old fuel in it), so it should look fine when I remove the head. Yep, looking again at your pic and that thing was definitely left exposed to the PNW elements w/ no cyl head on it for some time. Bummer. Rusty cylinder walls are not good.
