Ditto.
Bought my '95 Subaru Legacy new, and kept it around for 13 years and 193,000 miles.
Bought my '07 Ford Sport Track new, and it's still going strong after nearly 5 years, and 66,000 miles. Hope to keep it another 5 years minimum...
Bought my '89 944S2 used in 2001 with 115,000 on the clock, and I've kept it for 10 years, (currently have ~170,000 miles on it) but it is time to move on to something new.
Factoring in all the cars I've owned, I keep my cars for 7 years on average. And that's the best way to stay 'ahead' of the depreciation curve, IMHO. (About half my cars I've bought new, half used.)
