Long range tanks are a necessity out here. With 160L over two tanks the 20L Jerry is just insurance. Depending on the conditions in the desert, it gives me at least 600km range (on the black top it'll be double that). The other car is a 2011 76 series Landcruiser. The owner immediately dumped the stock 90L tank and replaced it with 170L.
I had a mate with a mid '90s Pathfinder (pretty good car overall), and he swapped out his stock tank for 150L. Highly recommended.
