Where To Find? (32+ inch Chrome Round Bar 5/8 Inch Diam Hollow)
Okay, I am going to complain about something trivial.
I have a bathroom. (Yay.) It contains towels. (Uh huh.) The towels hang on a very pretty chrome double towel bar, with one rod further out from the wall and lower than the other. (So?)
Well, people - small, ill-disciplined, brainless people - are in the habit of removing towel from bar by pulling vigorously down on the towel end. Not carefully lifting towel off the bar like other people - big, wise, careful people.
This puts tremendous leverage and stress on the mounts for the towel bar, yanking the screws right out from the plaster wall. And yanking plastic anchors. And toggle anchors. And expanding moly bolts. Anything short of a long screw securely tightened into a solid wood stud is going to be yanked out.
So, my studs are on 16 inch centers, and my pretty chrome double towel bar is 24 inches long. No problem, I will just get a 32 inch pretty chrome double towel bar. (Simple.)
Not so easy. I can't find one that matches the four other towel bars and the towel ring in the room. So it will cost like $200-$300 for the double bar and maybe $600-$800 for the whole deal. (Arrgh.)
But wait. (Lightbulb.) All I need is two 5/8 inch diameter, round, chrome tubes, ideally hollow, over 32 inches long. (Yay.)
Guess what. All my Googling skills can't find a source for this. (Shamed.)
Any ideas? Some obscure industrial source for this stuff? I'm about to stick some rebar in there and call it a day. (Aggravated.)
