Owned 2, both more reliable and cheap to maintain than any car of similar age or service and on neither was I even the first or second owner. The comparison universe is to 40 or so cars of a wide variety of makes over 50 years.
But buying a used car...any make/model...is always a crap shoot. What seems good can turn to $$$ just as any mechanical device can. And while a PPI and records can help some, there is no sure thing but death and taxes.
