You should expect some issues with any used car regardless of the maintenance record. Some owners trade in or sell before major maintenance items such as the 60K service on Boxsters which can run $1,200-1500 depending on whose doing it, less if you do it yourself. I bought my '99 with 74K miles and no record of that service so I had it done and since then after 25K miles I've only replaced the water pump, tires and regular oil changes. The Boxsters tend to be an excellent trouble free vehicle to own until you get into the mods which is a hard thing not to do. Get a PPI from a Porsche trained mechanic and that will tell you a lot.
