Ha! That looks just like the one on my 83 NA - which I broke when I was installing a heater valve. It's a Temperature control valve for the vapor recovery system (opens the vapor recovery system at a certain temp). And they are expensive as sin.
Fortunately, mine seems to run just fine without it - I just plugged the hoses.
Which admittedly is kinda a half-assed way to deal with it - and might very well impact your smog inspection - but works.
The other looks like a venturi - which are a PITA - they seem to leak. I wasn't aware NA's had venturis, if that's what it is. Where is it and where do the hoses go?
