Porsche Crest kids in a 914

As a Police officer for 22 years, it would be my recommendation to forget putting any small kids in a 914, regardless of wether or not they are in a Child Safety Seat. A good rule of thumb is if they are too small to fit properly into the passenger seat (without booster seats or CCS's), using available restraint devices, then they are too small. Also, 914's are pretty low to the ground and lightweight. I do not want to think about what a side impact would do to the car and the people inside. Because you are taking the time to ask, I can see that even though you would like to participatie in Porsche events as a family, you are concerned about their safety first. Even though the 914's with the center cushion/jump seat may accommodate a small person. I think that getting a CSS (Child Safety Seat) properly anchored in either the passengers side seat or the center would be a nightmare. I just wouldn't risk it. I am sure that many of our friends on this site can attest to how well the 914 holds up in any accident. I like the idea of towing your 914 if you have another vehicle available to do so. Or better yet, Its a good excuse to buy a 911 or 924 for your wife to follow you to the events in.
