Lego's can now be made in China to, I see it on some of my boxes.
Most of the time, Chinese stuff is junk, because the company making the specs is going with the cheapest option.
You mentioned electronics, China is making the highest quality LED's. We have not been able to source China's quality here in the US, eventually we hope to make our own. If you ask for top product instead of crap, China may be able to deliver, but most companies are going to China asking for crap, and getting what they ask for.
