On my old road race bikes, I built front stands that would plug in to the lower section where the steering hole was.
That lifted the front end and unloaded the suspension also.
Bikes with the Telelever are not so easy to make a stand for the front......I tried.

I'm a moron. I forgot about how the lower axle pinch setup works on these bikes, so I just zoomed in on one of my photos to remind myself. In my defense  I was just working on my CBX with the lower bit that drops away. Yeah, this stand would have plenty of good uses. I agree that a headstock stand is a definitely a bit more useful, although it's a lot more dough that what the OP was really posting about. Sorry for the static, carry on.
