It is a hear wrenching condition. We lost one child in utero but were able to save our other son who is healthy thanks to surgery. Had the condition been diagnosed early, and not misdiagnosed by an incompetent doctor, we could have saved both. We had to fly all over the country racing the clock to find the right surgeon that would separate the blood flow using laser. We consider ourselves very fortunate. It is a condition anyone expecting twins should be aware of and our lesson to be shared is to seek quality medical advice when expecting twins.
