that's no good... used rockers on new cams will have a high risk of bad wear due to uneven breakin-wear..
The rockers no longer have the right surface hardening, the cams w(sh)ould. So they might not break in right and potentially cause em to wear like the picture you showed (though that is an extreme example)..
This is why every 911 engine that comes apart, should have it's rockers numbered so they are reinstalled in exactly the same spot on the exact same cam lobe.
Usually when people send in a cam to be rewelded and reground, they would send the rockers with the cam, to get those reconditioned and rehardened as well.
On my engine i got new cams, and new rockers to go with them..It's just not worth the hassle..
reusing OEM, 20-30 year old rockers on a brand new or reground cam is asking for trouble.. seriously.
