Tell her to buy a POS with good tires, and good brakes. Going forward is optional, just make sure it stops well. A older Ford Taurus might be a good option. Cheap, room for friends, safe, and she won't be heart broken if it gets trashed. Leave the BMW at home safe for when she graduates.
