My 3-day back spasm is now on day 10...:(

I've cut WAY back on my activities, but still my wee-back spasm is now 10+ days.

Things I've done that have not contributed to it's recovery: trip to Vegas with 10+ miles of walking, nookie (though cut WAY back considering..), a soft bed at the Bellagio.

Things I've done to help: both prescription day/night muscle relaxers (no effect), ibuprofin (works a bit, but "no more than 6 pills within 24 hours" makes me worry).
Hot baths, very soft stretching, heating pad, sleeping with heating pad. No gym, no cardio, reduced diet, no lifting, bare minimum exersion on anything.

My doctor will not try another type of muscle relaxer & merely suggests getting an xray. I have a herniated disc but the issues from the disc differ from a typical back spasm as I've had the spasm's since I was 20: maybe once a year or so.

My next venture would be to see a back/spine specialist.

Anyone have any suggestions? I have too much on my plate to be sidelined for such a long time.
