One thing I really miss about that area is the great drainage! Yes, its pouring rain there. But if and when it stops, you have great storm drains that carry it all away and you are left with nice dry yards and streets. Here in Louisiana, it rains just as much, if not more. and we have NO drainage. My yard has 2 areas of water over 2 inches deep, and we haven't had rain in a week! The ditch in front of me house actually leads no where! It just collects water to hold for the mosquitos to have somewhere to breed.
I can put up with the rain, if there is somewhere for the water to go...
