Plugging the 'octane loop' together will make it slower.
There are two single terminal plugs at each ECU connector. They may still be factory taped to the harness.
The plugs at the EZF ignition brain (steel cover with vacuum line), with green wires, short the air temp sensor input. This retards the ignition timing by 3° at higher loads or WOT. This is known as the 'octane loop', for use if substandard fuel is used.
