Thanks Wayne and Steve for the kind words. It's a lot of fun watching him play. Happy Holidays to you and you family as well!

Vonsmog - That's a sweet setup you have there. Very Cool! I have a friend that isn't to far away with a pond. Every winter we work together clearing the snow off and flooding it to keep it smooth. But that's typically good for only for 3-4 months. I keep trying to talk him into a zamboni but I don't think he'll ever do it. So I'll run with this for now and if he gets 4-5 yrs out of it it'll be worth it.

Oracle - Thanks for mentioning that. That has been on my mind too. I was thinking about 1/4" plywood or the RFP all around but I'll look into that insulation. I know what you mean about drywall and pucks not being a good mix. This project kinda started because of that. I heard a bang, and him and his sister would giggle. Then I heard a bang, and again they'd giggle. So I went downstairs and he was shooting pucks through the drywall leaving perfect shapped holes in it. I was pretty upset but that is when I realized he needs his own bigger space for this activity.
