Back in the Mid 1980s, we were selling a lot of IBM PC-ATs (a rather bulky, heavy machine). Our office was 2nd floor with no elevator with a very wide outside staircase. Can't recall the carrier as we used several but the guy (not our regular delivery guy) who came to pick up our outgoing shipment was older and had a club-foot. When he got to stairs, he sat the box down, turned it up on end and gave it a push. It cart-wheeled down the flight of stairs and on past the bottom of the staircase.
Several of us saw him and hit the stairs on the run. Read the guy the riot act and told him to never come back, called the carrier and told them the story. Don't know if he was fired or not but we never saw him again.
We unpacked the machine and it booted right up but the case had a large dent in the side. The carrier just wanted to pay to replace the case but eventually agreed to replace the whole machine as we argued just because it would boot didn't mean it wasn't damaged.
Note: our regular dellivery guy knew he could ask for help anytime he needed it to haul stuff up/down the stairs.
