Mike - I don't think there are many guys out there fortunate enough to have Fabcar parts on their cars. I don't know how Fabcar connects to the transmission.
You might look at whatever it is Hargett does - his shifter has the rod above the tunnel also, does it not?
WEVO makes a stouter clamp to hold the stock connector to the semi-splined rod, based on having seen the stock clamp lose its clamping force (though that hasn't happened to me and mine).
No doubt you have noted the designs which adjust length with shims and fixed plates, with no clamping needed beyond what holds the bolts together. Ought to be duck soup to fabricate or add with an above the tunnel system?
